The new Recording Studio (2009-2010)
I started work on a new recording studio after I left the EducDesign company in mid 2008. One year later, in mid 2009, the new studio had almost been completed and became operational. Testing started in late 2009, first recordings started in 2010.

The old Recording Studio (1998-2002)
My old recording studio was located in at parents home. I started building it in 1998, it became operational from in 2000 and was used from 2000-2002.
I produced a few albums and demo CDs. Shortly after buying new equipment in 2001 I started to focus more and more on software so that I didn't have enough time for the studio anymore.
The control room was only 4 x 3 meters without any real accoustic treatment.

The studio offered 24 track digital recording. You can see the Tascam DA-88 and DA-38 digital 8-track recorders in the back of the photo. 8 tracks were recorded on the DAW (Apple PowerMac G4, Motu 2408 and Emagic Logic 4/5).
The 32 channel inline mixing console was unique and hand made, it was designed and built by a professor from Luxembourg. It was really cool, not quite and SSL but still way better than all those semi-pro desks. 4-band semi-parametric EQs and compressors on all channels! I still own the desk, but I'm not using it anymore, it would need some repairing...
The Access Virus synth offers both great sound and a really good keyboard. I'm still using it today.
I focused a lot on the atmosphere of the studio when I built it. The pictures on the walls were oil paintings by myself. Today I'm not doing any painting anymore, I just ain't got the time...
That's me, during the "Fifteen/40" CD production. Note the Yamaha NS-10M studio speakers on the rights, which are now installed in my new studio.
The recording room, about 7 x 4 meters. This was also the
Pagan Lorn rehearsal room.
