OLMO CMS

OLMO is an easy to use and powerful Content Management System (CMS). Once completed, it will be possible to download and use OLMO for free as it is licensed as Open Source software under the GPL (GNU Public License). OLMO was announced on September 8, 2009, for the moment it's only a developer preview. A usable release for end users shall become available in 2010.

Technology

OLMO is a software layer for the CorneliOS WebOS and application framework. The idea behind OLMO is to offer a consumer friendly GUI on top of the powerful CorneliOS core.

History

A project to offer an alternative GUI for the CorneliOS software was launched in July 2009 (Project AMOK). The resulting software was called ONO, a first prototype was written in early August 2009 in Klegod, Denmark. Shortly after the project had to be renamed as there already was a software project called ONO. OLMO was chosen as a new name as we liked the short "double O" look of ONO.

On September 8, 2009, a first prototype of the OLMO System API was released on sourceforge.net. A first version running the workbench GUI on top of the CorneliOS core was released on October 6. A first prototype release of the client utility source code followed on November 18th, 2009.
